Generating new supergravity solutions using Ehlers-Harrison-type transformations
نویسنده
چکیده
The technique of generating new solutions to 4D gravity/matter systems by dimensional reduction to a σ-model is extended to supersymmetric configurations of supergravity. The conditions required for the preservation of supersymmetry under isometry transformations in the σ-model target space are found. Some examples illustrating the technique are given. e-mail: [email protected] e-mail: [email protected]

A nonlinear second order field equation – similarity solutions and relation to a Bellmann-type equation - Applications to Maxwellian Molecules
In this paper Lie’s formalism is applied to deduce classes of solutions of a nonlinear partial differential equation (nPDE) of second order with quadratic nonlinearity. The equation has the meaning of a field equation appearing in the formulation of kinetic models. Similarity solutions and transformations are given in a most general form derived to the first time in terms of reciprocal Jacobian...
متن کاملSolution generating with perfect fluids
We apply a technique, due to Stephani, for generating solutions of the Einstein-perfect-fluid equations. This technique is similar to the vacuum solution generating techniques of Ehlers, Harrison, Geroch and others. We start with a “seed” solution of the Einstein-perfect-fluid equations with a Killing vector. The seed solution must either have (i) a spacelike Killing vector and equation of stat...
متن کاملGenerating rotating fields in general relativity
I present a new method to generate rotating solutions of the Einstein–Maxwell equations from static solutions, give several examples of its application, and discuss its general properties. When dealing with exact stationary solutions of the Einstein equations, one sometimes stumbles on the questions, quite easy to ask, but rather difficult to answer: Given some static solution, what is the fami...
متن کاملS duality and dyonic p-brane solutions in type II string theory.
We show how a solitonic “magnetically” charged p-brane solution of a given supergravity theory, with the magnetic charge carried by an antisymmetric tensor gauge field, can be generalized to a dyonic solution. We discuss the cases of ten-dimensional and elevendimensional supergravity in more detail and a new dyonic five-brane solution in ten dimensions is given. Unlike the purely electrically o...
متن کاملEhlers-Harrison-type transformations in dilaton-axion gravity.
The ten–parametric internal symmetry group is found in the D = 4 Einstein– Maxwell–Dilaton–Axion theory restricted to space–times admitting a Killing vector field. The group includes dilaton–axion SL(2, R) duality and Harrison–type transformations which are similar to some target–space duality boosts, but act on a different set of variables. New symmetry is used to derive a seven–parametric fam...
